A semi damaged black basalt pillar discovered in Joypurhat District of Bangladesh. It's inscription in ancient language
that matches the inscription on the pillar in Delhi, erected in the 3rd
century BCE by the third Indian Emperor, Ashoka, to mark palaces where
the Buddha taught. This adds to the firm instance of these deltaic lands
as the “Cradle of Buddhism”.
